Harry and Jose in the running for Premier League awards

Wed 29 July 2020, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane and Jose Mourinho have been shortlisted for July’s round of monthly Premier League awards.

Striker Harry, who turned 27 yesterday (Tuesday), finished the elongated season in fine form with five goals in our last three games as we produced a run of positive results to secure a Europa League spot for next season.

Braces in wins against Newcastle United and Leicester City, coupled with his early strike in the final-day draw at Crystal Palace that got us over the line, took his overall tally to six goals in seven games throughout July, having also hit the target in the disappointing 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United at the beginning of the month – the only match we lost since the Premier League’s restart in June.

Consequently, he’s up for the Premier League's EA SPORTS Player of the Month prize, along with West Ham’s Michail Antonio, Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic, Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Burnley’s Nick Pope and Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.

Having overseen four wins and two draws from our seven games in July, including victory over Arsenal in the first ever Premier League north London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Head Coach Jose has been nominated for Barclays Manager of the Month.

Following that early setback at Bramall Lane, Jose led us to a 1-0 home win over Everton, a goalless draw at Bournemouth, the 2-1 triumph over Arsenal, a 3-1 win at Newcastle, 3-0 victory in our final home game against Leicester before Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Palace.

He faces competition from City’s Pep Guardiola, Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, West Ham’s David Moyes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of Manchester United.

As usual, fan votes will help to decide the winners – cast your votes via the links below to give your backing to Harry and Jose in their respective categories. Voting closes at 6pm on Friday (31 July).
