We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for the loan signing of Emma Mitchell from Arsenal for the remainder of the season.

The 27-year-old will wear the number 21 shirt for Spurs Women.

The versatile defender and midfielder began her senior career with Scottish Women’s Premier League side Glasgow City FC in 2008 where she spent four successful years, winning nine trophies including four league titles.

Before she joined Arsenal in 2013, Emma had a four-month spell in Germany with Bundesliga side SGS Essen.

She made 15 appearances for the Gunners in their title-winning campaign last season and has featured for them on five occasions this season.

A Scottish international, Emma has represented her country at every level, captained both the Under-17s and Under-19s and has 60 senior caps.

It will be nice to be part of helping the team get more points on the board.

Emma said: “I’m really pleased to be at the Club, it’s going to be a new challenge for me and I’m looking forward to being part of the squad and meeting the girls ahead of a big game against Manchester City on Sunday.

"After speaking to Karen and Juan, it felt like the best opportunity for me to come here and get some minutes under my belt which is a big focus for me in the new year and it will be nice to be part of helping the team get more points on the board.”
