Local young players were joined by a special guest today (Monday 17 February) when Ryan Sessegnon visited their half-term Player Development Programme.

The youngsters had been attempting to re-create Ryan’s world record for hitting each piece of the goal’s woodwork in the fastest time when the player himself made a surprise appearance.

During the session at Epping St. John’s School, Ryan also gave advice and tips to the young players hoping to follow his path of becoming a professional footballer.

This involved demonstrating his skills to the youngsters and participating in technical drills, followed by a Q&A on his personal journey as a player.

Speaking at the event, Ryan said: “I remember how much I looked up to professional players as a young boy coming through, so I’m happy that I can now be that figure to these kids.

“These programmes introduce young players to the Spurs way from an early age, which will really benefit them as they progress. It has been great to see them learning new skills today and loving their football.”

Our Holiday Player Development Programmes run during school holidays throughout the year, giving young footballers a taste of training like a pro.

These take place across Essex, London and Hertfordshire at premium venues with elite facilities.

Delivered by our FA and UEFA-qualified Global Football Development coaches, programmes aim to progress each player to their full potential, using methods taken directly from our Academy and First Team training sessions.

During school term-time, the Club also runs evening programmes for children aged 5-12 years old at several sites, including our world-class Training Centre in Enfield.
