Harry Kane has been shortlisted for the 2020 UEFA.com Fans’ Team of the Year.
A selection of 50 players - proposed by the UEFA editorial team before being validated by the Technical Observer panel - were revealed by UEFA on Tuesday. Fans can now have their say on the final XI with voting now open.
Five goalkeepers, 15 defenders, 15 midfielders and 15 forwards have been nominated for the team based on their performances in both UEFA and domestic competitions between January and December this calendar year.
Fifteen Premier League players have been included in the nominations while four England internationals have been shortlisted - Harry, Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold (both Liverpool).
Despite having missed the first half of 2020 through an injury picked up on New Year’s Day, before the season was then suspended in March, Harry returned to our side in June and hasn’t looked back since. So far this year, our number 10 has played 25 games and has been involved in 33 goals - eight of those coming in five European appearances for us. This year, the striker has also broken record after record, reaching 200 club career goals in July before he hit the landmarks of 200 Spurs goals and 150 Premier League goals in November.
The forward was previously nominated for UEFA.com Fans’ Team of the Year in 2018 alongside Hugo Lloris.
Gareth Bale remains the only Spurs player to have made the final cut having sealed a place in the XI in both 2011 and 2013.
