Jose Mourinho took one positive from our 3-3 draw against LASK in Linz – that the point secured our place in the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League.

The Austrian team had the better of the first and took the lead through Peter Michorl’s 25-yarder, but we levelled in added time when Tanguy Ndombele’s shot was blocked by Andres Andrade and Gareth Bale converted from the spot.

Heung-Min Son broke away to finish for 2-1 on 56 minutes, but the home side kept plugging away and were rewarded when Johannes Eggestein made it 2-2 on 84 minutes. We were then awarded another penalty for Phillipp Wiesinger’s foul on Steven Bergwijn, Dele planted home the spot-kick and with two minutes left, that looked like that.

But LASK were not to be denied and earned a 3-3 draw thanks to Mamoudou Karamoko’s curler from the edge of the box on 93 minutes.

The only positive I take from the game is the result, that we have qualified, and we have the chance to finish first if we beat Antwerp.

The point guaranteed a top two finish in Group J and we’ll now fight it out with Royal Antwerp – top of the group by two points after beating Ludogorets 3-1 this evening – for top spot on Matchday Six at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Thursday (10 December, 8pm).

Jose said: “The result was better than the performance, the second half better than the first, some players individually had very good performances, but some had very poor performances.

“The only positive I take from the game is the result, that we have qualified, and we have the chance to finish first if we beat Antwerp.

“To finish first we need to win our last match at home, and that would give us an advantage we shouldn’t waste. We have qualified, so we don't have the pressure of having to win our last match to qualify, but I think we should win that last match, and I believe we are going to do that.”
