Winner of App ‘Moment of the Season so far’ poll revealed

Tottenham Hotspur
After winning our ‘Goal of the Season so far’ poll in March, Heung-Min Son has once again scooped the top prize as his superb solo effort in our 5-0 win over Burnley in December has been voted your 'Moment of the season so far'.
In a poll run exclusively on the Spurs Official App over the last week, Sonny’s mesmerising dribble and finish against the Clarets picked up almost 50 per cent of the total votes cast to beat the other 10 contenders to the top spot.
Relive our number seven’s memorable strike once more with our all angles video below while we also take a look at the efforts which completed your top three moments of the season so far.
1. Heung-Min Son's solo strike against Burnley
We have seen Sonny’s brilliance with the ball on so many occasions over the last five years, yet his spellbinding solo effort against Burnley back in December was an all-encompassing statement of just how talented the South Korean star is.
Fully 80 yards from goal and with a whole host of opposition players in his way, Sonny somehow, just somehow, managed to find a path all the way to Nick Pope’s goal and then fire the ball past the keeper in just 11 seconds. When he picked up the ball on the edge of our box, no one could have expected him to take on the rest of the field by himself, never mind then going on to score - and nor did the forward. In his interview with Spurs TV immediately after the game, he admitted going for goal had never been on his mind, his only thought was to get the ball to one of his teammates – however, those options quickly became unavailable.
That depletion in choices though, in turn, opened up space and with his speed, agility and vision, he was able break away and slip through the gaps in the Lancashire-based outfit’s defence before coolly picking his spot. That strike put us three ahead without reply with the clock having ticked just past the half-hour mark with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura already on the scoresheet. Harry went on to get a second after the restart before Moussa Sissoko completed the scoring with our fifth on 74 minutes to round off a perfect day in N17.
2. Steven Bergwijn's debut stunner against Manchester City
Despite a slow start to 2020, we began to pick up in both the league and FA Cup with a run of four games unbeaten over both competitions towards the end of January. Yet, a significant test lay ahead of us as the reigning league champions were up next in N17 - we, however, had been boosted by a new addition to our ranks.
Steven Bergwijn, signed from PSV Eindhoven on the Wednesday, made his debut for the Club against Manchester City on the Sunday afternoon - and what an impact he would make. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was rocking for the clash, especially after Hugo Lloris produced a superb save to deny City’s Ilkay Gundogan from the spot midway through the first half. Then, when Oleksandr Zinchenko was sent off on the hour mark following his second booking, we sensed it could be our day.
Just three minutes after Zinchenko’s dismissal, we took the lead. A short corner was played between Heung-Min Son and Bergwijn before Harry Winks crossed the ball into the box. It was cleared but only to the feet of Lucas Moura who immediately played the most instinctive of chipped passes into the box, right onto the waiting chest of our new signing. He took just one touch to set the ball into the path of his on swinging right foot and with a crisp connection, volleyed sweetly into the corner of the net – cue an eruption in north London. What a moment!
And what a result it then turned into as Sonny wrapped up all three points against the Citizens with a fine finish on 71 minutes.
3. TIED – Lucas Moura’s lighting impact against Manchester City/Spurs 4-2 Olympiacos
Thousands of votes may have been cast in our poll but in the end, nothing could separate Lucas Moura’s first touch of the ball away at the Etihad Stadium in August and our European comeback against Olympiacos back in November – the night we sealed our qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League with victory over the Greek outfit in north London.
Lucas Moura’s lighting impact against Manchester City
Starting in Manchester in just our second game of the campaign, Lucas made an immediate impact after coming off the bench against Manchester City. Twice we had fallen behind to the reigning champions but on both occasions, we clawed our way back level – enough to take a point home.
Raheem Sterling had opened the scoring for our hosts on 20 minutes before Erik Lamela quickly found us an equaliser moments later, yet, despite the Argentine’s effort, we went in at the break behind as his compatriot Sergio Aguero put City back in front 10 minutes before half-time. It was a disappointment to be behind at the interval yet, as we stepped up our attacking intensity after the restart, we immediately found the desired equaliser following the introduction of Lucas.
Brought on in the 56th-minute, the former PSG man’s run was picked out by Lamela’s inswinging corner. The forward then out-leapt City’s Kyle Walker in the centre of the box before flicking the ball into the corner of the net. What an impact! Just seconds after entering the action he had us level with his first touch. And that deft finish was to earn us a point with the game finishing 2-2 – although that was despite late drama at the Etihad as, with just seconds remaining, what looked to be a City winner was ruled out for handball following a VAR review.
Spurs 4-2 Olympiacos
We welcomed Olympiacos to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in November for Matchday Five of our Champions League group stage campaign knowing victory would seal our place in the knockout stages of the competition. Yet, our encounter with the Greek side would be anything but straightforward.
Within 20 minutes we were 2-0 down, frustrated and in need of another dramatic turnaround in Europe if we were to progress. But, when Dele Alli found a way to get us back in the tie in added time at the end of the first period, it was a goal that gave us a new impetus and momentum.
Five minutes after the restart we were level with Harry Kane rattling in from close range – thanks in a large part to the quick thinking of 15-year-old ball boy Callum Hynes who quickly recycled the ball for Serge Aurier to get us moving once again. Serge then got in on the act, hitting a sumptuous volley into the bottom corner of the net to put us in front for the first time in the clash before Harry grabbed his second of the game with 13 minutes left, sealing our place in the final 16 of European football’s elite club competition.
