Gerry Lambert RIP

Wed 01 April 2020, 15:40|Tottenham Hotspur

We were saddened to hear that Gerry Lambert, our former Head of Security, has died. He was 81.

Gerry, who served the Club between 1982 until his retirement in 2003, passed away peacefully at his Edmonton home on Tuesday 31 March.

A popular figure at White Hart Lane, Gerry was loved and respected by all. It was a different era when such a full-time role was new to many clubs, but he established many of the good practices that we still follow today.

Always willing to take on any job to ensure that life at the Lane ran as smoothly and efficiently as possible, Gerry was well known to all the players and managers throughout that time.

So much so that our legendary former captain Steve Perryman described him thus in his recently published auto-biography: “Gerry Lambert, the unassuming security man...was such a lovely North London bloke.”

We extend our sincere condolences to Gerry’s wife Judy and daughters Julia and Joanna at this sad time.
