18-82 Q&A - Winks: "Fancy dress? A character out of Peaky Blinders!"

Continuing our new Q&A feature for the new season - using the year of the Club’s formation as inspiration – as we ask our players to choose 18 lifestyle questions from a selection of 82. Next up it’s the turn of our England international midfielder Harry Winks...

1 Did you ever have a job outside of football?

Winksy: “No, I was straight into football, I didn’t really have the time for anything else.”

2 If you could go back in time, where would you go?

Winksy: “I’d go back to day one - the big bang - and see how the world was created.”

3 Who would you like to sing a duet with?

Winksy: “If I could sing, I wouldn’t mind a duet with Ariana Grande.”

4 How do you like your eggs?

Winksy: “Poached, with a runny yolk.”

5 You have a rare day off - what is your perfect day?

Winksy: “First of all, a lay in! Then head into London with a few mates, hopefully nice weather, walk around London, go to a few nice restaurants, have a coffee, maybe do a bit of shopping.” Note - Winksy did this Q&A before the coronavirus outbreak...

6 Do you have a guilty pleasure?

Winksy: “I’ve got to be honest, no, not really!”

7 What keeps you going through the bad times?

Winksy: “Memories of the good times and getting back to them.”

8 What sort of father do you think you will be?

Winksy: “Strict, but very loving - and I’d be getting a football out early!”

9 What is your favourite sandwich?

Winksy: “Chicken, with mayonnaise and lettuce.”

10 What reminds you of home?

Winksy: “Chicken soup! My mum used to make it.”

11 When was the last time you cried?

Winksy: “Wow... I wouldn’t know. It was probably years ago. I do remember one occasion, I was watching Godzilla when I was young. He died and I cried.”

12 Tell us a secret...

Winksy: “I can’t as it wouldn’t be a secret!”

13 What is the first thing you normally do in the morning?

Winksy: “Moan - because I want to go back to sleep!”

14 Did you ever appear in a school play?

Winksy: “Yes, I was in Henry VIII when I was young. I can’t remember the role I played, but it wasn’t Henry VIII. I didn’t get the main job.”

15 Describe your worst-ever hairstyle...

Winksy: “I had a Mohican. I copied David Beckham. It didn’t go down well.”

16 What would be your fancy dress costume?

Winksy: “A character out of Peaky Blinders.”

17 What are you always asked in interviews?

Winksy: “What’s it like playing for Tottenham when you support the club? And as I always say - it’s a dream come true.”

18 What is your favourite photograph?

Winksy: “It’s a photo of me, my mum and my dad at White Hart Lane after I scored against West Ham on my Premier League debut.”
