Internationals - Kane, Winks, Sissoko in action

Mon 14 October 2019, 22:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane scored and claimed three assists as England beat Bulgaria 6-0 in Euro 2020 qualifying in Sofia on Monday evening.

The skipper was joined in the starting line-up by Harry Winks, his first cap since November, 2018 and fourth in total. Danny Rose was suspended after picking up a yellow card against Czech Republic on Friday.

Harry set-up two goals for Raheem Sterling and one for Ross Barkley before finally getting on the scoresheet himself, the sixth and final goal five minutes from time. That was his 28th goal in 43 caps. Harry and 'Winksy' both completed the 90 minutes.

England stay top of Group A by three points and now need a draw in their penultimate qualifier against Kosovo at Wembley on 14 November to secure a place in the finals next summer. Their final qualifier is in Kosovo on 17 November.

Staying with Euro 2020 qualifying, Moussa Sissoko started again for France, earning his 61st cap as 'Les Bleus' were held to a 1-1 draw by Turkey in Group H. Moussa was twice denied by Turkish goalkeeper Mert Gunok in the first half. France eventually took the lead through Olivier Giroud on 75 minutes but were stunned when Kaan Ayhan levelled five minutes later. Tanguy Ndombele was an unused substitute for the hosts.

The results leaves Turkey and France locked at the top of Group H with Iceland four points adrift. The top two teams in each of the 10 groups qualify for the finals.

Elsewhere, Jack Clarke and Japhet Tanganga started on the bench as England Under-20s lost 3-0 against Czech Republic in a friendly at Peterborough United. Jamie Bowden came off the bench on the hour as Republic of Ireland Under-19s were beaten 2-0 by Denmark in a friendly in Sligo.
