Internationals - Eriksen on target, Friday action

Fri 22 March 2019, 12:41|Tottenham Hotspur

Christian Eriksen scored just two minutes after entering the fray as Denmark drew 2-2 against Kosovo in a friendly on Thursday night.

The playmaker made it 26 goals in 86 caps for his country firing home from the penalty spot on 63 minutes having come off the bench on the hour as the Danes came from 1-0 and 2-1 down to draw in Pristina.

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen both played 90 minutes as Belgium opened their qualifying campaign for Euro 2020 with a 3-1 win against Russia.

There was good news for development squad winger Anthony Georgiou - currently on loan at Levante in Spain - as he claimed an assist for the fifth goal as Cyprus toppled San Marino 5-0 in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Staying with Cyprus, Jack Roles scored the winner as Cyprus Under-21s beat Gibraltar 1-0 in European qualifying in Larnaca on Wednesday night.

Paris Maghoma was also on target on Wednesday as England Under-18s toppled Japan 4-1 in the SportsChain Cup in Dubai. Paris came off the bench to score in the second half, team-mate Luis Binks played the full 90.
