Opening day – the numbers

Thu 13 June 2019, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

We’ve lost just one of our last six opening day fixtures - even though they’ve all been away.

We’re back at home for the first day of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign with newly-promoted Aston Villa our visitors on Saturday 10 August. The game will be televised by Sky Sports and kick-off is 5.30pm.

It’s the first time we’ve played at home on opening weekend since a goalless draw against Manchester City at the start of 2010/11.

Since then, we’ve played eight matches away, winning four, drawing one and losing three. However, we’re unbeaten since 2016/17 and have back-to-back wins at Newcastle in the last two seasons.
