Mauricio, Harry shortlisted for FIFA 'The Best' awards

Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane have been shortlisted for FIFA's prestigious 'The Best' awards.

Mauricio is up for 'The Best FIFA Men’s Coach 2019' while Harry is nominated for 'The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2019'.

Both are part of 10-man shortlists compiled by FIFA's panel of experts based on respective achievements during the period from 16 July, 2018, to 19 July, 2019. There are also awards for 'The Best FIFA Women’s Coach 2019' and 'The Best FIFA Women’s Player 2019'.

Mauricio helped create Club history last season by taking us to the final of the Champions League for the first time. He also guided the team to fourth place in the Premier League and therefore into the Champions League for the fourth-successive season.

Harry scored 24 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions in 2018/19. His winner in the League Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea in January saw him become the first Spur to score 20-plus goals for five-successive seasons. He also became the Club's all-time record European goalscorer with number 24 against Borussia Dortmund in March.

Captain of England, Harry helped the Three Lions reach the Nations League semi-finals this summer. He now has 22 goals in 39 caps.

The fan vote will be equally weighted alongside the votes of other key members of the footballing community - journalists, national team coaches and captains. The three finalists for each award will be revealed at a later date, with all award winners revealed at The Best FIFA Football Awards show in Milan on 23 September.
