Club celebrates Pride in London

Sat 06 July 2019, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Members of Proud Lilywhites, the Official LGBT+ Supporters Association of Tottenham Hotspur, represented the Club this weekend at the annual ‘Pride in London’ parade.

Wearing specially designed t-shirts and carrying Proud Lilywhites flags, the group and our much-loved mascot Chirpy marched from Regents Park to Trafalgar Square alongside other LGBT+ football fans who are all members of ‘Pride in Football’ - the national alliance for LGBT+ supporters’ groups.

‘Pride in London’ is the UK’s biggest and most diverse pride event inclusive of people of every race, ethnicity, disability, faith and all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Proud Lilywhites was formed in 2014 and works closely with the Club to maintain an inclusive environment for all supporters at matches in the UK and abroad.

They also work with Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s dedicated LGBT+ Officer to help run LGBT+ workshops and youth groups out of Percy House, the Foundation’s headquarters on Tottenham High Road.

Chris Paouros, Co-Chair of Proud Lilywhites said: “Pride is always a special event in our calendar, and this year’s event was bigger and better than ever. It’s always fantastic to see so many people come out onto the streets of London in support of the LGBT+ community. We work closely with the Club to ensure our football matches have a safe and inclusive environment, and that all fans no matter what their sexuality, feel welcome at Spurs.”
