Although we've enjoyed an encouraging first half of the campaign, skipper Hugo Lloris knows we must not ease up as we head into another vital period.

After winning 16 out of our 21 Premier League games so far, we sit third in the table and following a late resurgence in the Champions League group stage, we have managed to progress to the last 16 of the competition.

Then, last Friday night, we booked our place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, recording our biggest ever away win as we put seven past Tranmere Rovers and, just four days later, we put one foot in the Carabao Cup final as a Harry Kane penalty gave us the advantage in the first leg of our semi-final against Chelsea.

World Cup winner Hugo admits it’s an "exciting" time for the Club, but he is well aware that the next few months for us will be crucial to the way our season ultimately pans out.

Now, the most important period is ahead of us - January, February, March and then the last two months is the final sprint.

“It’s a very good feeling because all the players have taken part and we are still alive in different competitions,” our number one explained.

“Now, the most important period is ahead of us - January, February, March and then the last two months is the final sprint to get to the right place in the table.

“It’s very simple though. We take it game by game, try to enjoy our performances and keep this winning taste because this is the most important in football, to get this taste after every game and to become even more competitive.

“We are trying to reduce the gap to the top teams and it’s a very exciting period for the Club. We will all do our best to get something at the end of the season.”
