Champions League draw details – who can we face?

Fri 13 December 2019, 08:40|Tottenham Hotspur

The Champions League round of 16 draw takes place on Monday at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, beginning at 11am UK time.

We qualified for the knockout stages after our 4-2 home win over Olympiacos on matchday five, which confirmed us as runners-up in Group B. Last week's 3-1 defeat at Bayern Munich was immaterial, with the German giants already having secured top spot.

Monday's draw for the round of 16 will see the eight winners (seeded) and eight runners-up (unseeded) from the group stage drawn against each other.

Seeded teams

Barcelona (ESP: Group F)
Bayern Munich (GER: Group B)
Juventus (ITA: Group D)
RB Leipzig (GER: Group G)
Liverpool (ENG, holders: Group E)
Manchester City (ENG: Group C)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA: Group A)
Valencia (ESP: Group H)

Unseeded teams

Atalanta (ITA: Group C)
Atletico Madrid (ESP: Group D)
Chelsea (ENG: Group H)
Borussia Dortmund (GER: Group F)
Lyon (FRA: Group G)
Napoli (ITA: Group E)
Real Madrid (ESP: Group A)
Tottenham Hotspur (ENG: Group B)

The seeded teams will play at home in the second leg of their respective last 16 ties. No team can play a club from their Champions League group, or a side from the same national association. That rules out us being drawn against Bayern Munich, Liverpool or Manchester City.

Teams eligible to be drawn against us

Barcelona (ESP: Group F)
Juventus (ITA: Group D)
RB Leipzig (GER: Group G)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA: Group A)
Valencia (ESP: Group H)

First leg matches during the round of 16 are scheduled for 18, 19, 25 and 26 February, with the second legs on 10, 11, 17 and 18 March.

Exact dates and kick-off times for our matches will be confirmed after the draw.
