It's the first of three matches against Manchester City in the space of 11 days and another historic night as we host Champions League football at the new stadium for the first time on Tuesday night (8pm).

We travel to the Etihad for the second leg on Wednesday 17 April with another huge game in the Premier League back in the light blue half of Manchester on Saturday 20 April.

In the meantime, here's everything you need to know about Pep Guardiola's quadruple-chasing team ahead of our Champions League quarter-final, first leg...

Team news

Sergio Aguero, Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy are all in contention for Tuesday night's first leg after injury scares. Aguero missed City's last two matches after picking up an injury at Fulham on 30 March, Walker came off at half-time during City's FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton on Saturday and Mendy returned in that semi-final win after a long-term knee problem.

City's form

City are in flying form as they prepare for the first leg. Still chasing the 'quadruple', they have already landed the Carabao Cup, reached the FA Cup Final at the weekend - they will play Watford in May - and remain favourites for the Premier League title, two points adrift of Liverpool with a game in hand.

Their last defeat was at Newcastle on 29 January. Since then, they've won 13 of 14 matches in all competitions. They drew the other, and that was the Carabao Cup Final, which they then won on penalties against Chelsea.

One to watch

A midfielder with a bit of everything, Fernandinho is a key cog in City's wheel. Sitting at the base of midfield, the Brazilian international reads the game, tackles, intercepts and has an often under-rated passing game. In a team that includes such an array of attacking talent - the likes of Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, Sane, De Bruyne and Silva - Fernandinho not only provides that protection for the back four, but keeps City ticking over. The highest praise you can give him is that opponents often think 'stop Fernandinho, stop City'.

He has just returned from a five-game injury absence and came off the bench in City's last two wins against Cardiff and Brighton.

Previous clash

City took the spoils by the narrowest of margins when we last met in the Premier League at Wembley in October. The visitors scored the decisive goal in the fifth minute through Riyad Mahrez and it was an even contest from there as we fought our way back into the game without creating too many clear-cut chances. However, our moment arrived 10 minutes from time when Dele picked out Erik Lamela, only for the Argentine to fire over the crossbar from 15 yards.

Magic moment

Pep Guardiola arrived at the old White Hart Lane for the first time as City boss on 2 October, 2016. His side had blazed an early trail in his first season in the Premier League, winning six out of six before facing us in N17. As it turned out, this was one of many highlights in our final season at the Lane as City were swept aside 2-0 thanks to an own goal and Dele's strike in the first half. We remained unbeaten at home - winning 17 of 19 - on our way to second place in the Premier League.

Played for both

A fiery, competitive, all-action midfielder with an eye for goal, Michael Brown came through City's youth scheme to play 103 times for the then-Maine Road side between 1995-1999. It seems hard to believe, but City had fallen down to League One back in 1998-1999, Michael played 39 times in all competitions as they started the long climb back, a climb that has taken them to the very top. Michael impressed even more in his next spell at Sheffield United, including scoring 22 goals in 54 appearances from midfield in 2002-03. It ended in heartbreak though - he scored in both legs of the play-off semi-finals after the Blades finished third in the Championship only to lose 3-0 in the final to Wolves. Michael joined us in January, 2004 and made 64 appearances before departing for Fulham. He went on to play until the age of 39 with spells at Wigan, Portsmouth, Leeds and Port Vale, with whom he later stepped into management for the first time. Currently working in the media, he's been a regular in press boxes for a number of our games commentating for Five Live.

What they're saying...

Pep Guardiola spoke about our strength in his pre-match press conference after City had trained at the new stadium on Monday.

"The club is strong," he said. "They are strong physically in all departments. With their build-up, it’s an incredible team. I have said a thousand times about them."

Speaking about the new stadium, he added: "The stadium is what it is, the supporters support the team more than ever in the Champions League. It's up to us how we handle it. We have to know how to handle the situations, if we don't that's because we are not prepared to go through."
