Wed 12 September 2018, 15:05|Tottenham Hotspur

With the international break coming to an end, the start of a new season of Champions League football is drawing ever closer, with an away trip to the San Siro to face Inter coming up next week.

Last term, Harry Kane set a new goalscoring record in the competition, netting more times (nine) in his first nine Champions League appearances than any other player.

As we prepare for another exciting group stage campaign that also includes Barcelona and PSV, take a look back at our home-grown striker’s Champions League goals to date, coupled with our new range of Champions League merchandise to help you get geared up for our 2018/19 adventures…

1) Harry opened up his Champions League account with a well-placed penalty in our Group E, matchday five trip to AS Monaco in November, 2016. Dele Alli cushioned down a ball in the opposition’s box before being pulled to the ground. The penalty brought us back into the game at 1-1, but a quick response from the home side saw them triumph 2-1.

You can always rely on Harry with a pen! This Spurs Champions League pen represents the perfect small gift for any fan looking forward to this season’s European campaign.

2) In our final group game of the 2016/17 Champions League season at Wembley, Harry tapped home against CSKA Moscow from a drilled Danny Rose cross in the final minutes of the first half to make it 2-0. We went on to triumph 3-1, but unfortunately it was too little, too late as we exited the competition after that game.

Harry kept his cool on a cold December night at Wembley, but our Spurs Champions League dual-branded scarf is perfect to keep you warm for the upcoming European campaign.

3) After being drawn in a tough group in the 2017/18 Champions League campaign, it was deemed a difficult task for us to progress to the round of 16. But we got through in style, starting with a memorable 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley in September, 2017. Following Heung-Min Son’s opener and an early reply, Harry helped us get off to the perfect start in Group H, holding off the challenges of two Dortmund defenders before running the ball into the box and smashing high past goalkeeper Roman Burki.

Harry zipped into the area to put us 2-1 up that night. Zip yourself up nice and warm with our men’s colour block track jacket. With a simple yet stylish design, it’s a fashionable zip-up if it gets cold on a matchday.

4) Harry grabbed his second of the match against Dortmund on the hour mark to put daylight between the sides and make sure we went on to claim all three points at Wembley.

By this point, Harry was well on his way to his record-breaking goals tally, writing his name into club folklore alongside other star names who have shone on the European stage. Another name in that category is Glenn Hoddle – if Hod was one of your favourite players growing up, why not reminisce on those glory, glory days with our Hoddle photographic t-shirt?

5) Harry grabbed his fifth European goal and opened the scoring away to APOEL later in September, 2017, rolling his defender before advancing on the keeper and sliding the ball under him with his left foot.

Harry’s neat finish set him up to claim his first European hat-trick. Start off your Champions League stash with this men’s Spurs Champions League polo. It has a smart, classic look with a two-buttoned placket and is suitable for any occasion. Plus, it’s available in navy or white.

6) Harry got his second of the match against APOEL with an excellent finish. The ball was pulled back to him on the edge of the box, the striker taking one touch to get the ball out of his feet before slotting home with his right foot this time.

Goal number six - APOEL away

Harry built on his first-half strike with a well taken second. Add to the above Champions League polo with the hoodie. This Spurs Champions League hooded top is a comfortable classic and, in grey, it’s perfect to wear casually or underneath your Spurs kit en route to the match.

7) Harry finished off the perfect hat-trick in the second half against APOEL. Kieran Trippier’s precise cross found Harry perfectly on the run, the striker calmly finishing with a header and sealing a 3-0 victory.

On your head son! Harry sealed the deal with this header and you can show your appreciation with the Spurs Champions League dual-branded beanie hat. It’s the perfect matchday accessory if you’re travelling to our games against Barcelona, PSV or Inter this season.

8) Harry was back at it again in the return match against Borussia Dortmund in Germany in November, 2017. Danny won the ball back on the left, Dele then picked it up and slid an inside pass to the striker, who expertly placed the ball past Burki to level after the hosts had taken the lead. Sonny later completed a 2-1 win.

Harry showed with this goal that precision and power are essential. You can’t go wrong with the Spurs essential range and with this Spurs men’s essential t-shirt, you have a selection of the traditional navy and white Tottenham Hotspur colours to choose from.

9) Once again Dele and Harry combined for a crucial goal against Juventus in Turin as we battled through the first leg of our round of 16 tie in February, 2018. After seeing us go 2-0 down, Harry pulled a goal back, rounding a despairing Gianluigi Buffon and ending the Italian stopper’s 723-minute run without conceding a goal for club or country. The match ended 2-2 after Christian Eriksen’s equaliser but sadly we went down 2-1 in the home leg.

Goal number nine - Juventus away

We turned out in our third kit on that memorable night away to Juventus last season. This year’s third shirt comes in Neptune Green with a striking design and is the shirt the players will wear on our travels in this season’s European campaign.
