Shashoua on target in Spain

Mon 01 October 2018, 11:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Samuel Shashoua scored his first senior goal for loan club Atlético Baleares on Sunday.

Samuel had not tasted victory in any of his first three outings for the Spanish Segunda Division B side – two of which had come as a late substitute – but his 15th-minute effort set them on their way to a 2-1 home win against Conquense.

Fellow attacking midfielder Marcus Edwards has impressed during the early stages of his loan spell at Dutch side Excelsior, earning a spot in the Eredivisie team of the week from Dutch media outlet Voetbal International for his performance in a 3-3 draw against Heerenveen on 22 September.

Marcus also claimed an assist in his first start for the club a week earlier, a 2-2 draw at Willem II, and has now started their last four matches.

In the Championship, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josh Onomah have each made two appearances for Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday respectively. Centre-back Cameron came off the bench to ensure the Welsh side kept a clean sheet in their goalless draw at home to Nottingham Forest on 15 September then played the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 defeat at Stoke City three days later.

Midfielder Josh made his first appearance from the bench for the Owls in their 2-2 draw at home to Stoke on 15 September then was elevated to the starting XI for their next game, a 2-1 reverse at Forest.

Elsewhere, Connor Ogilvie has played two full games so far in what is his second spell at League One side Gillingham. Having spent the entire 2017/18 season on loan at the Gills, the left-back has tasted defeat in both the EFL Trophy game at Portsmouth and league game at home to leaders Peterborough United in recent weeks.
