Mauricio on Arsenal draw

Mauricio Pochettino described the north London derby showdown in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup as a ‘massive motivation’.

The players were still in the dressing room and Mauricio about to start his media duties after our 3-1 win against West Ham in the fourth round last night when news of the draw for the last eight came through at the London Stadium – Arsenal at the Emirates for a place in the semi-finals.

The tie will take place on the week commencing 17 December - we’ll have exact date and ticket details in due course.

“I think it’s fantastic because it’s a massive motivation for everyone, playing at the Emirates against Arsenal,” said Mauricio.

“It will be an exciting derby, an exciting game and I hope it will be good.

“But now it’s about focusing on the Premier League, the Champions League and we will then arrive in December with the possibility to play in the quarter-final against Arsenal.”
