Malaysia Spurs raise money for orphanage

Fri 16 November 2018, 16:59|Tottenham Hotspur

Members of Malaysia Spurs, one of our official Supporters’ Clubs, has raised £250 (1,100 Malaysian Ringgit) for a children’s orphanage in Port Klang.

During Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, members of the club visited the orphanage to present staff with the money and give children gifts and toys, many of which were donated by the Malaysia office of AIA, the Club’s Global Principle Partner.

Throughout the year, Malaysia Spurs have organised a number of fundraising events to raise money for Pusat Jagaan Sai Annai Illam orphanage, including an auction where members of the Supporters’ Club donated Spurs shirts and other Club merchandise.

Syahizan Amir, Chairman of Malaysia Spurs, said: “During festivals such as Diwali, it’s important that we come together and help those who are less fortunate than us. Members of Malaysia Spurs have supported the orphanage for a couple of years, and we hope the money we have raised will help them improve their facilities which, in turn, will allow them to support more children.”

We currently have 190 official Supporters' Clubs across the world, including in South Korea, India, Singapore, Lebanon, Nigeria, Australia, Bermuda, South Africa, Brazil and USA. In the UK and Ireland, we have 47 clubs, stretching from Cornwall to Glasgow as well as special interest groups such as Proud Lilywhites, for our LGBT+ supporters, SpursAbility, for our disabled fans, and Armed Forces Spurs for serving and former members of the British Armed Forces.
