Anguillan Ministers pay visit to Percy House

Anguilla Parliamentary Secretary and former English cricketer Honouree Cardigan Connor joined Minister for Sport and Tourism Evans Rogers and Secretary for Economic and Social Development Larry Franklin for a visit to Percy House, the Club’s new hub for enterprise, skills and training.

The group met with Nikki Kelly, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation Director of Programmes, and other key staff members, who gave an overview of the work the Foundation does to support the local people in Haringey, from our school sport programmes to an employment and training scheme and health and wellbeing programmes. The members of the Anguilla government were interested to learn some of the methods that the Foundation use and take this back to Anguilla, with the aim of developing their community sport programmes and encouraging greater community cohesion. 

Honouree Cardigan Connor and his guests were then taken on a tour of Percy House by Joanna Yeung, History and Heritage Project Manager. Percy House is a prominent 18th Century building on Tottenham High Road with historic links to the Club, that has recently been restored and renovated. Percy House will deliver over 95,000 hours of community development, health, enterprise, education and sports programmes each year to those living in the Club’s local area.

Having lived in England for many years as a professional cricketer, I have always been aware of the power of the Tottenham Hotspur brand. It’s been great to have an insight into the community work the Club does through its Foundation. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to exchange information with Nikki Kelly and her colleagues, and I look forward to working with Tottenham Hotspur in the future.”
