World Cup - Belgian trio join Hugo in semi-finals

Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen will face Hugo Lloris and France in the semi-finals of the World Cup after Belgium's 2-1 victory over Brazil in Russia on Friday.
Defenders Toby and Jan both played the full 90 minutes as an own goal and Kevin De Bruyne's strike in the first half saw Belgium home in Kazan. Mousa remained an unused substitute.
Renato Augusto handed Brazil a lifeline by making it 2-1 on 76 minutes but Jan and Toby stayed resolute in Belgium's back line.
They will now face their Spurs captain and team-mate Hugo for a place in the final in St Petersburg on Tuesday (7pm). Hugo was in fine form as France toppled Uruguay 2-0 in Friday's other quarter-final.
It means we will have a Spurs player or players in the World Cup Final for only the second time - Christian Ziege played for Germany in the 2002 final against Brazil, Jimmy Greaves was in the England squad but didn't play in the 1966 final and Ossie Ardiles won the trophy with Argentina in 1978 before joining Spurs alongside squad member Ricky Villa.
