Jose Mourinho wants the team to be on the front foot in today’s north London derby - and to take all three points.
We come into this afternoon’s clash against Arsenal (4.30pm kick-off) in fine form having won each of our last five games, but Jose is all too aware that in these high-pressure games, form usually goes out of the window.
Yet, our Head Coach is keen for us to make the most of our recent momentum, take the game to our opponents and keep our winning run going.
“Form doesn’t mean much, it’s the derby, all the emotion around it,” Jose explained. “Okay, five victories, but their results are also positive. It’s a positive moment for both of us. One injury for us, I believe for them, none, so squads in a good moment. Let’s go for a big game. We want to go to a better position, so we need three points, they need three points, and we go for it.
“We know how good they are going forward, look to their bench, Pepe, Willian, Aubameyang, they have great potential if you don’t defend well. But, when we look to us, on the bench Dele, Vinicius, Lamela, and then on the pitch, we cannot be afraid to play, to have a go and try to score goals today.”
