Ryan Mason has spoken about his team selection ahead of this evening’s clash with Sheffield United (7.15pm kick-off).
Making two changes to last Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final starting XI, Ryan has brought Dele and Gareth Bale into the side for Harry Winks and Lucas Moura.
“He’s had an excellent training week,” Ryan began on Dele. “The lads have been bright all week, but I felt Dele stood out and I have to reward him for that. We’re confident in him tonight. The most important thing is hunger, and he’s showed a hunger to compete in training, so it’s hard to ignore that. I know what Dele is capable of, he’s still fit… it was quite an easy decision to start him tonight.
“Lucas missed training all week and only joined the squad yesterday. Gareth produced a moment for us against Southampton, he was unlucky not to get the nod at the weekend, but he’s also had a good training week so we felt it was right to bring him back in.”
