Ziege will never forget his Rovers return
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
It might have been one to forget for everyone else, but Christian Ziege will remember our defeat against Blackburn Rovers for the rest of his life.
The last-day disappointment at the Lane was a massive landmark day in the German World Cup star's return from a career-threatening injury.
Back on Boxing Day, the wing-back was rushed to hospital after the draw against Charlton after his thigh muscle had blown to twice it's size - the medical term for the condition is 'decompartmentalised'.
Two operations followed, the first released the pressure in the thigh and the second saw the surgeon stitch up the 10-inch incision.
Incredibly, Christian could have returned just four months later but a knee problem halted an amazing recovery.
He eventually returned in a practice match on April 28 - banging home a volley to mark his comeback - before stepping off the bench for a half-hour stint against Rovers on the Premiership's final day.
Christian followed that up with another 65 minutes of our Capital Cup clash against DC United in USA last week.
With his illustrious career on the line back in December, he has plenty to look forward to next season.
"I'm just glad to be back on the field and playing again," said the 31-year-old. "I'm happy.
"I played the last 30 minutes against Blackburn Rovers even though we lost 4-0, for me personally it was nice because I could play.
"That was a big hurdle for me, to play again in the Premiership.
"Even against DC United, I can't explain it, even though it might have been tough for the players after a long season it was again nice forme just to be out there. I certainly hope all my injuries are done now."
