Ziege: Good to be back
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Christian Ziege was delighted to return to the first team fold with a win on Sunday and now hopes to put together a sustained run of games.
After a stop-start beginning to the campaign for the German international, Christian suffered a torn calf muscle against Middlesbrough in late September. Following two impressive displays for reserves, Christian was available for selection along with Stephen Carr and Glenn finally had the threat down both flanks that he had hankered after for so long.
And it was quite a return. Leeds were put firmly on the rack in the first half as Spurs went two goals to the good and Christian put in a good 70-minute stint.
"It has been a long time and I hope it stays like it is now," said the 30-year-old at Spurs Lodge. "I'm back, feel good and now hope to stay clear of injuries for the next 15 months or so...
"I was alright out there. I was running quite a lot and I was surprised. I'm just glad to be back and pleased with our performance. The most important thing is the three points we got."
While Christian obviously feels most comfortable with the freedom the 3-5-2 system allows him, with the injuries he has suffered he says it was just good to be back.
"For me it was just nice to play. I think the way we played with the system allows us to play our best."
