Zeki positive after first training sessions

The hard work ahead of the new season is well underway at the Training Centre – and Zeki Fryers says it’s been a purposeful few days.

The players returned for pre-season training at the end of last week and have since been put through their paces by Mauricio Pochettino and his staff in preparation for the 2014-15 campaign.

With three warm-up matches against MLS teams on the horizon as part of our summer tour of the USA and Canada, some strenuous sessions have been put on for the squad – with defender Zeki under no illusions about the graft that’s going to be required both now and throughout the season.

“Training’s going well, it’s been good and I like the set-up. It’s been hard, sharp, but that’s positive,” said the 21-year-old, who made 16 first team appearances for us last term. “Pre-season is always hard but all the lads are doing well.

“We have all come back fresh and it’s good to see everyone again. It was a nice break but we’re all ready to put in the work now and get back into things.

“I can’t wait for the games to come – hopefully I’ll feature in some. We’ll just have to see how things go.”
