Your Spur-fect XIs: Part 1

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

There has been a tremendous response to our 'Spur-fect XI' feature where we asked you to name your Dream Spurs Team of all-time.

All the great names are there but, of course, there are differences in opinion and no two 'Spur-fect XIs' are the same!

Keep your teams coming in and we'll endeavour to publish as many as we can this week.

Remember, the basic rules are straight 11 players of any Spurs era, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 system, no substitutes. Feel free to include a brief write-up to explain why you picked your particular side.

Send your Spur-fect XI's by e-mailing it to us by clicking here and please remember to include your name...

From Xyvind Essveen: My Spur-fect XI is based on players I've seen play with my own eyes, and players I've seen on video. Unfortunately, there are lots of other players worthy the Spur-fect XI, but since a team can only have 11 men, these are the ones I choose.

4-4-2: Thorstvedt, Carr, Kinnear, Mabbutt, Blanchflower, Davies, Hoddle, Gascoigne, Lineker, Greaves, Waddle.

From Jonathan Reeve: 4-4-2: Ditchburn, Carr, Roberts, England, Hughton, Anderton, Mackay, Gascoigne, Waddle, Greaves, Klinsmann.

From David Golding: My team assumes everyone at their own peak and naturally at peak fitness. Incidentally, my manager would be Keith Burkinshaw.

In a 4-4-2 formation I would pick the following team: Jennings, Mackay, Gough, Blanchflower, England, Hoddle, Gascoigne, Ardiles, Mullery, Klinsmann, Lineker.

From Jamie Boreham, Enfield: This team is perhaps a little recent but that's due to my age! I don't think you could find a more solid back three, all three on their day were world beaters. And just imagine how terrified opposing teams would be to see that attacking midfield four of Hoddle, Gascoigne, Ginola and Waddle running at them, with the underated Paul Allen sitting deeper. Finally, had to leave Jimmy Greaves out because the prospect of having Linker and Klinsmann together up front is second to none!

3-5-2: Jennings, Mabbutt, Blanchflower, Campbell, Ginola, Waddle, Gascoigne, Hoddle, Allen, Lineker, Klinsmann.

From Dan Perkins: I reckon this is a very exciting, well balanced side full of Spurs legends, who knows what this side would be worth nowadays!

4-4-2: Jennings, Blanchflower, Mackay, Roberts, Hughton, Waddle, Hoddle, Burgess, Ginola, Greaves, Klinsmann.

From Andy Piper, Plymouth: I have based my Spurfect XI mostly on players that I have seen play but have included a couple of legends. I have been a Spurs fan since I was four but can only really remember from 1984 onwards. The legends that I have included are Pat Jennings, Dave Mackay, Danny Blanchflower and Jimmy Greaves. The remainder pick themselves as far as I'm concerned.

4-4-2: Jennings, Perryman, Mackay, Mabbutt, Hughton, Waddle, Gascoigne, Hoddle, Blanchflower, Greaves, Sheringham.

From Mark Wartnaby: My Spurs XI is within my time of supporting spurs which is 18 years, so my team is from my earliest memories onwards.

3-5-2: Keller, Mabbutt, Campbell, King, Ginola, Anderton, Gascoigne, Freund, Sheringham, Klinsmann, Lineker.

From Mark Sachon: 4-4-2: Jennings, Knowles, Perryman, England, Mabbutt, Hoddle, Blanchflower, Ardiles, Mackay, Greaves, Chivers.

From Stuart Robinson: 4-4-2: Jennings, Perryman, Mabbutt, King, Ziege, Davies, Gascoigne, Hoddle, Ginola, Sheringham, Klinsmann.

From Ben Connor: This would be my top eleven. All class players. It may be slightly favoured towards modern players as my first game was the 1987 FA Cup Final.

4-4-2: Jennings, Perryman, Mabbutt, Mackay, Knowles, Waddle, Gascoigne, Hoddle, Ginola, Lineker, Klinsmann.

From Ross Freedman: 4-4-2: Jennings, Carr, Blanchflower, Campbell, Knowles, Jones, Mackay, Gascoigne, Ginola, Greaves, Chivers.
