Youngy's biggest stage
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Luke Young took a moment, looked to the sky and admitted, not surprisingly: “This is the biggest game of my life.”
Our ever-improving full-back has been outstanding recently and will need to be at his best when he faces rampaging Ray Parlour in a key battle at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old stated: “It’s a massive game, the biggest I’ll be involved with so far. It would always be huge because it’s Tottenham-Arsenal but the fact it’s a semi-final adds to it again. And I’d love to play in the final.”
Luke had a good look at the opposition last weekend at Highbury and took heart from our performance with six players, including himself, aged 21 or under in the starting line-up.
“We did really well for 70 minutes and they couldn’t really break us down,” he reflected. “They had a couple of half-chances but didn’t put them away. When they finally got the goal they relaxed and started to play more football.
“They have a really strong squad and the players they leave on the bench are probably all internationals.
“It was always going to be a tough game. You have played like Kanu who can come on and do what he did.
“But I’m sure we’ll have a few experienced players back for this one and that can only be good for us.”
As for his own form, he added modestly: “My own form isn’t too bad. I’m still out of position but as long as I play I don’t really mind. I’m normally on the right side of the defence but it’s gone all right this season. I’m enjoying my football.”
