Youngsters to face Monaco in UEFA Youth League today

14 September 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Today not only marks the start of our UEFA Champions League adventure – our youngsters are also set to step out on the European stage in the UEFA Youth League this afternoon.

As participants in the Champions League, we are automatically entered into this Under-19 tournament with our group stage fixtures mirroring those of the senior side.

That means our academy will take on Monaco’s Under-19s today at the Training Centre, kick-off 2pm.

“We play roughly 30 international games a year with our various tours so we’ll approach the UEFA Youth League in a similar manner,” said John McDermott, our Head of Player Development.

“We’ve played against similar styles of football so the boys are used to it, but it will still be a great occasion.”

Follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial for live updates from the game.

Supporters should note that all matches in the UEFA Youth League will be all-ticket events. Under competition rules, entry cannot be granted without a ticket. Supporters are therefore asked not to arrive at the venue without a valid ticket on matchdays.
