Young Lions to the Lane for Dominic

It's shaping up to be a week to remember for Dominic Ball.

The young defender made his debut for England Under-20s on Friday and a week later, our Under-21s are preparing to return to the big stage at White Hart Lane to take on Southampton in the Barclays U21 Premier League.

The Young Lions beat Romania 6-0 at Telford and Dominic was left to reflect on a proud night.

“To start the game and sing the National Anthem for the first time was a special moment,” he said. “I was delighted to start, play 90 minutes and we won 6-0, so it was a perfect night.”

Dominic, who turned 19 last month, played 16 times for the Under-21s last term and started alongside Milos Veljkovic as we opened this season’s campaign with a 2-1 win against West Ham.

He said the lads couldn’t wait to return to the Lane. “Everyone is buzzing to play at White Hart Lane. Most of us have played there before but when you go back for the first time in a new season it’s always special. They are always the biggest games.

“We’ve worked on how we want to play on and off the ball and hopefully we’ll go out there, play well and get the three points.

“We’d all admit we weren’t at our best against West Ham and it was one of those games where we had to dig in and get the result. We’re looking to push on again from there.”

Kick-off against the Saints is 7pm.
