Younes proud of Hugo

Younes Kaboul has spoken of his admiration for his French compatriot Hugo Lloris.

Our number one is captain of the French national team and has helped Didier Deschamps’ men reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Brazil.

After winning Group E, a 2-0 victory over Nigeria has set-up a mouth-watering clash against Germany in Rio on Friday (5pm UK). The winners take on Brazil or Colombia in the last four.

“We have known each other since we were 17, so that’s 10 years now,” said Younes, capped at all youth levels by France from Under-16-21 and five times by the senior squad.

“From day one, I knew he was a fantastic goalkeeper - a world-class goalkeeper - and I’m very happy to play alongside him at Spurs.

“He’s the captain of the national team and I’m very proud of him. I hope he will lead them a long way.”
