Younes positive going forward

Tue 21 October 2014, 15:44|Tottenham Hotspur

Younes Kaboul believes we’ll see a positive response from the squad to Saturday’s defeat at Manchester City in our home triple-header over the next week.

We return to Europa League action against Asteras Tripolis at White Hart Lane on Thursday night, before hosting Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday. A Capital One Cup tie against Brighton & Hove Albion then follows next Wednesday.

Having seen glimpses of what we’re capable of during our 4-1 reverse in the north-west, captain Younes reckons we pose a real threat to all three of our forthcoming opponents.

“It could have gone either way on Saturday, but unfortunately for us it went in City’s favour,” said the central defender. “At the beginning we had two clear chances and we could have been 2-0 up before the 15-minute mark, but we didn’t take them and Joe Hart made some good saves.

“Sometimes you have to accept that, when you play away from home – especially at City, you won’t have a lot of chances but to be fair we created chances throughout the match and there were a lot of positive things to take forward. Now we move on to the next games looking for positive performances and wins.”
