Chris Hughton points to Sheffield United's Bramall Lane as the best place to start hitting back from our recent disappointments.Having lost out in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup to Arsenal, we were beaten 4-0 at home by Manchester United in the Barclays Premiership on Sunday.
Coach and Martin Jol's assistant Chris doesn't need to be told that we're going through somewhat of a sticky patch but remains positive we can turn it around this weekend.
"Yes, we are going through a bad period in regards results and it’s been a while since we’ve experienced that," he said at Spurs Lodge. "The other thing is that we're having to cope with the amount of games. Sunday’s match was our 39th when, in contrast, we played 40 in the whole of last season. It’s how you come to terms with it all."
So how do you recover? "For a start, you get back on the training pitch, although due to the amount of games that time is less and two, you get back on the football pitch.
"The best place to start is always the next game.
"Unfortunately – and it applies to everyone – we’ve had players away on international duty, so we didn’t had the opportunity to go over the United game and by the time they came back, we were firmly into preparing for Sheffield United.
"We have to look at Sheffield United as the opportunity to get back to winning ways and try to address the form we’ve had away from home. It’s our next game and we have to show it."
