Yet another extraordinary project

Wed 08 February 2017, 06:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Hot on the heels of celebrating a decade of life-changing work, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation this week officially announced another extraordinary community project, Your Futures.

It sees a member of staff from the Club based within the Emergency Department at Whittington Hospital, North London, acting as a mentor to young people who are referred through the hospital’s safeguarding team, having been involved in violence.

The aim is for young people to be able to identify with the recognisable Club tracksuit, enabling the mentor to guide the participant onto the Foundation’s many youth programmes and pathways towards positive outcomes, such as educational achievement or employment.

One young man to already benefit from the scheme is Andrew, aged 10. Watch his story in the video above and his chance meeting with one of his heroes, Christian Eriksen – filmed for BBC Match of the Day’s Community Feature that aired last Sunday.
