Xtra - all-time PL Spurs team - right midfield vote
It's time to look at the wide positions as we select our all-time Spurs team from 20 seasons of the Premier League.
We're kicking off with right midfield/right wing today - the vote is live on Facebook - with the left side of the team to follow on Monday.
Here are the candidates...
Darren Anderton - 1992-2004 - Legendary right midfielder and England international who made over 350 appearances in all competitions, including 299 in the Premier League and would have been more but for injury. Enjoyed a great playing relationship with Teddy Sheringham, played in Euro 96 and scored in the 1998 World Cup. Won the League Cup in 1999.
Ruel Fox - 1995-1999 - Nippy winger snapped up fron Norwich, Ruel played left and right at Spurs, deputising for Anderton in 1997-98, eventually featured over 100 times in the Premier League, starting 95.
Simon Davies - 2000-2005 - Employed across the midfield but happiest either right or central, the Welsh international made 121 appearances for us in the Premier League, starting 99.
Aaron Lennon - 2005-present - Flying winger who has made the right side his own since breaking through in 2005-06, appearing 27, 26, 29, 35, 22, 34 and 23 times over the seasons since then. Capped 19 times by England, Aaron was called-up for the 2006 and 2010 World Cup Finals. Hampered by injury in 2011-12, he featured 23 times to take his Premier League tally to 196.
Ledley King won Thursday's poll with 41.04% of the vote as we put together our central defensive pairing.
He is partnered by Sol Campbell who, after a slow start in the vote, gathered pace (with a little help from across North London...) to finish second with 37.89%, ahead of Gary Mabbutt on 10.51%. So we have two Spurs home-grown players at centre-half.
Have your say!
We're putting together a team in a 4-4-2 system and we're using the poll facility on our official fan page on Facebook - CLICK HERE - to vote.
We will hold eight votes in total - goalkeeper, right and left full-back, two centre-backs, right and left midfield, two central midfielders and two strikers.
We'll run daily updates giving you the contenders for each position and the result of that position the next day. We'll also have reminders on Facebook and @SpursOfficial on Twitter.
