WTPS: Souness sounds off
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness attacks Glenn Hoddle for his previous thoughts on his new striker Andy Cole as our New Year's clash hots up.
Glenn questioned whether or not Cole's strikerate was good enough at international level when he was England boss.
Souness, who snapped up Cole from Manchester United, is quoted in the Mirror: "I remember Glenn saying those things about Andy needing five chances to score a goal and so so a lot of other people.
"Glenn made a mistake in what he said about Andy when he was England boss. And those words have been damaging to Andy's international career ever since.
"But you have to remember this is the same man who reckons Michael Owen is not a natural goalscorer."
Similar versions of the same story appear in the Mail, Express and Star while the Sun and a couple of other papers quote Les Ferdinand and Dean Richards both singing Cole's praise.
