WTPS: Sergei's Italian link

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Sergei Rebrov has been linked with a move to Italy after his agent confirmed that informal contact has taken place.

The Sun and Express quote Sergei's advisor Sandor Varga as saying: "There has been a lot of speculation about Sergei and informal talks have place with Milan and Lazio officials - but there have been no firm approaches for him."

The Express say Sergei could be on the move by Christmas when the Italian transfer window opens for business with a link up with former strike partner Andriy Shevchenko at Milan looking favourite.

Some of the papers carry quotes from Teddy saying he will not be too old to perform at the World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea next year.

Teddy, recalled to the England squad to face Greece, said: "Even at my age, the chance to play for England means the same to me as it ever did.

"I would love to be involved in the World Cup finals should we get through. As a footballer you want to be there. You don't get many chances to play in a competition as big as that.

"It's my ambition to be there as long as my legs keep going. And they feel fine at the moment. If I didn't think I could handle it I wouldn't want to be there.

"It is for others to say how well I've been doing. I've been enjoying my football but I feel there is still better to come."

Meanwhile, Glenn has added to the debate over the PFA's battle with the Premier League over television money. Glenn is reported as saying that big-earning players could contribute more to the pot than the across-the-board £75-a-year to help out less well off fellow players.

"If they really want to protect other players who have hit difficult times, which is a good reason, then maybe they should double their fees."

The lead news of the day is speculation suggesting that George Graham is in the frame for the Leicester job vacated by Peter Taylor on Monday. Harry Redknapp is reported to be the other leading contender.
