WTPS: Deano's move
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
The Daily Star and the other tabloids report on Dean Richards' switch from Southampton to Spurs and claims relations between the two clubs are at a low.
Premier League chief Dave Richards is said to have brokered the completion of the deal.
Saints chairman Rupert Lowe is quoted as saying: "The timing and nature of this transaction have been thoroughly unsatisfactory - and we as a club are indepted to Dave Richards for his help.
"I've done my best to keep Dean over the last few weeks - but it has become increrasingly clear that, despite the support of our dressing room and our magnificent new stadium, his heart and mind are elsewhere."
Dean said on arrival: "It's a great move for me. I had two great years at Southampton, but when Spurs were interested it was definitely a move I wanted.
"I had the best season of my career last season, and a lot of that was down to what Glenn taught me on the training pitch."
Liverpool boss Gerrard Houllier has revealed why he accepted Spurs' offer for Christian Ziege and claims that the German international did not want to leave.
"I decided to move in a different direction and that's why Christian was sold." said Houllier. " Christian is a marvellous player and I also like him as a man. But he just wasn't right for Liverpool.
"I play four at the back and I quickly realised that Christian is at his best as a wing-back. I'm grateful that Christian came to the club and some of his performances - like the one at Roma - will always be remembered by me. It was just a matter of positioning.
"There are no grudges and I'm pleased Christian is doing well."
Meanwhile, former Spur Tony Parks, appointed joint caretaker manager of Halifax along with Neil Redfearn, wants his players to start enjoying a drink again.
"I like it when people are having a laugh after a match. I don't see anything wrong with having a drink."
