WTPS: All about Daz
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Darren Anderton is centre of attention in Thursday's papers after another outstanding display in front of England boss Sven Goran Eriksson in Tuesday's 4-0 win against Bolton.
Reporters must have caught up with the midfielder after the game as the same quotes appear in most newspapers.
Talking about his initial Achilles surgery in America, recovery and form this season, Darren says: "When I went to America last summer some friends of mine knew a specialist called Dr McShane
"My friend had seen him a few years ago and he had also dealt with American footballers and ice hockey and basketball players. So when I was struggling, my friend suggested I saw him.
"He had a machine that could pick up the slightest problem and it found that I had a tear in the achilles.
"In America they were very advanced in telling me what I had to do to keep myself fit with a problem like that. I've taken that on board.
"Every day in training I get treatment and make sure I warm up really thoroughly. I also have a massage afterwards. It is just prevention of injuries, really, which has helped me so much.
"This is the most consistent year I can remember since I was a youngster. All the operations over the years have affected my pace but I'm playing a different game.
"I am getting back to where I was a few years ago. I am now a different sort of player from what I was in terms of experience and maturity. I'm dominating games from the middle of the pitch.
"If I don't go to the World Cup, it won't be the end of the world for me. But every player wants to be there and I'm no different.
"English football is in a very healthy position at the moment and it is just nice to be talked about again as part of the set-up."
