World Cup 2014 - Nabil eyes last 16 spot

Nabil Bentaleb admits ‘everything is possible’ as Algeria prepare for their Group H showdown with Russia at the World Cup.

The African side’s stunning 4-2 win over South Korea on Sunday sees them sitting second in their group with three points going into the final round of matches before the knockout stages begin.

Three points against Russia, who lost 1-0 to Belgium after a late goal at the weekend, would guarantee Nabil’s nation a place in the last 16.

And while our midfielder is under no illusions about how tough it will be to get a result against Fabio Capello’s men this evening, kick-off 9pm, the 19-year-old is carrying a positive attitude into the contest.

“Russia will be another very good team and it means a lot when you get a chance to compete against those players at the World Cup,” he said.

“It’s a massive opportunity for us. I think everything is possible in football and we know from our recent games that we’ve got good qualities.

“We just have to show them all the time, be on our toes and show what we can do.”
