World Cup 2014 - Hugo on Germany

Fri 04 July 2014, 13:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris insists it's all about belief for his French team as they take on Germany in the quarter-finals of the World Cup this evening.

The intriguing clash is at Rio’s famous Maracana Stadium, kicking-off at 5pm UK time.

Proud captain of his national team, Hugo has led France to the last eight via winning Group E then a 2-0 victory against Nigeria.

He’s kept three clean sheets in four so far but knows Les Blues now face their sternest test.

“Germany are maybe the best team in the world at the moment,” said Hugo, talking to us exclusively from Brazil on Wednesday night.

“Collectively, they are so strong. They have lots of talented players but they also work so hard for the team and they also have big experience of tournaments like the World Cup.

“They were semi-finalists at the last World Cup and the last European Championships and they have big ambitions in this tournament.

“We know that over one game, anything is possible and teams have already showed that. We have to believe, try to do everything and have no regrets after the game.”
