Jonathan Woodgate expects to face a fired up Chelsea at the Lane on Wednesday night.

Jonathan Woodgate expects to face a fired up Chelsea at the Lane on Wednesday night.

The Blues are still slugging it out for the Barclays Premier League title and arrive in N17 just three points behind Manchester United and Arsenal and with a game in hand over the Gunners.

Throw in our victory in the Carling Cup Final last month and it's no surprise that defender 'Woody' is expecting a tough test from Avram Grant's men.

"Believe me, Chelsea will be going all out to win," said Jonathan at Spurs Lodge. "It will be a harder game than the final, without a doubt and they will want to put that right.

"They are going for the league title, they’ve always been there and thereabouts and the race is still wide open. They’ve top players who are hitting form at the right time.

"But we always fancy ourselves to beat anyone, home or away and this is no different. We also want to put matters right after Manchester City.

"When you are professional footballer you want to win as many games as you can and keep pushing up the league. We don’t want to be in the bottom half of the table.

"We’ve nine games left, 27 points to play for and we’ll be looking to win every game."
