Wish List 5
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
We have received thousands of your wish lists and we are working our way through them from the earliest ones. Hence there are one or two names included who have already gone elsewhere and, of course, a few references to Sol.
The name Joe Cole keeps occurring — and Shevchenko, while a few mention Derby’s Seth Johnson would be a good addition to our midfield.
Paula Dixon, Chesham: Shevchenko and Guardiola.
Michael Frangou, Bognor Regis: Glenn has done well bringing in Teddy and that defender Bunjy, but Teddy is 35 and no-one has ever heard of Bunjy. We need to bring in some well known players. I’m not saying spend 50 mil, but we need world class midfielders and so far we have bought a defender and a striker. Buying midfield players should stop the goals leaking in because we have a excellent keeper in Sulli. We should also consider buying a striker that will bang in over 25 goals a season, but if we do that we should offload Armstrong cause since a move here he has done nothing. I think Glenn is the man to bring glory back to Tottenham, with Sol or without.
Paul McAleavey, Belfast: Andrei Shevchenko - he's publicly stated that his favourite ever striking partner is Sergei Rebrov, and the prospect of them playing up front for Tottenham would be amazing.
Gareth Turner, Essex: Frank Lampard Jnr, Robbie Fowler, Michael Carrick, Nicky Butt, Seth Johnson.
Nicola Reynolds, Southampton: I think players such as Sheringham/ Effenberg with their experience, but also a few younger quality players like Frank Lampard Jnr and Joe Cole.
Paul Baxter: The players for my wish list would be to buy Javier Saviola from River Plate and (if available) Kluivert, also I think that Seth Johnson form Derby would play well in our midfield. We also need a good left winger/midfielder to create chances for our strikers.
Jonathan Evans, Lampeter: Wish: Petit. 1. Sullivan, 2. Carr, 3. Clemence, 4. Young, 5. Campbell, 6. King, 7. Anderton, 8. PETIT 9. Davies, 10. SHERINGHAM, 11. Rebrov - What a team!
Kai Magne Holmen, Norway: 1. Patrick Vieira, 2.Steffen Effenberg, 3. Frank Lampard, 4.Joe Cole, 5.Kieron Dyer.
Mark Lewis, Goole: Petit, Overmars, Butt.
Paul Drain: Try and bring in Lampard, Guardiola and/or Petit. Keep a hold of most/all of the youngsters who shone through this season, especially King, Davies and Doherty.
Tony Burroughs, Staplehurst: Effenberg, Guardiola, Joe Cole, Lampard and a cheap yet good European striker.
Ian Godfrey, Bejing: We should send scouts to look at Sparta Prague... (Czech national team have been formidable over the last 3 or 4 years and now). Sparta's Coach is set to leave and there could be some good players on the move - They have just won their fifth successive title... there is definite quality there. I like Edgar Davids, but now he's been done for drugs, I'm not sure. Before I knew that I thought he was made for Spurs... he works very hard, is very creative and passes the ball well he'd be a real boost to any teams’ moral (I think). Of the French players, forget everyone except Zidane, he is the only one worth looking at, the others appear to be too moody and temperamental. Hargreaves from Bayern.. keep tabs on him... he's a star.
Kevin Oliver, Rochester: Sidney Govou, Ebbe Sand, Christian Ziege, Clarence Seedorf, Kieron Dyer, Titus Bramble, Lee Bowyer, Carl Cort.
