Wish List 16
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Kenny Halliday: I think that we need a top class international defender like, Jaap Stam - someone that will take control of the non-existent defence. I agree with everyone else that we need a natural top class striker like Kevin Phillips (bring back Gary Lineker from retirement!!). Fingers crossed for a better season 2002/2003.
Tom Griffen: Spurs have excellent passers of the ball in the squad, Poyet, Teddy, Darren etc. Now all we need is somebody with pace and skill for them to pass to. We need someone like Robbie Keane, or Robert Earnshaw of Cardiff City. These players could run in to space and our midfielders could find them with their great passing ability. This way we could score more goals and be a more exciting team to watch.
Matthew Gamble: Glenn please get in a world class finisher, Les just can't finish. If we had a real goalscorer that got the chances he has had they would have had 40 this season. The likes of Phillips, Diego Tristan or Robbie Keane. And a world class young centre midfielder would be nice too.
Henrik Dingsoer: We need young talent. Therefore I suggest to get David Prutton from Forest, Michael Carrick from the Hammers, and on top Millwall`s Cherno Samba and Zamora from Brighton. We offload Sherwood, Taricco, Freund, Ferdinand, Clemence and Sheringham. This should give us about 10-12 million. For this we buy experienced players who are still not over the top like Patrick Andersson and Paul Scholes/Kevin Phillips.
Darren Perry: We clearly need a new strick force! Ferdi and Teddy will soon flake on the pitch if we don't have someone else coming through! (where is Iversen??). Ashton at Crewe is a great youngster, also the Argentinean Bernado Romeo is another great striker, along with Emile Mpenza of Shalke. Any of these would be great aquisitions for the club. But this summer Hoddle! Your doing great work, keep it up.
Richard Fetterroll: We are too inconsistant at the moment we need to settle down a bit and regain some of the fluent passing we had displayed at the beginning of the season, we also need a rock in the midfield, Sherwood is getting older and so is Freund. Look at Dixon Etuhu at Preston he's big and strong and doesnt give up. As for up front look to Dean Ashton at crewe, he keeps the ball well and has the finishing ability we seem to be lacking! As for the defence, just give King and Gardner a bit of time and then we can hopefully reap the rewards!
Alex Winterburn: I think that we should go for Litmanen in the summer so that we can rotate him with Teddy as Teddy looks tired at times and shows his age. Also I'd like to see Robbie Keane (£9M) and Bobby Zamora (£4M) come to the club so that we have a couple of proven goalscorers to come in and Les could back them up in his last season before retirement. I think we should sell Iversen, Taricco, Leonardsen, Sherwood and Armstrong to finance our moves. Then to strengthen the midfield I'd like to see us get Redknapp on a free, and then go for Carrick or Barry Ferguson for £8M-£10M. Also I'd like to see us sign Lionel Morgan as he looks like a very good prospect for the future.
Tom Slate: It's pretty clear we need a top striker and a solid midfielder. I am very much in favour of the Ibrox Barry Ferguson. He'll cost us the money, but he's just the type of complete midfielder we need, and he's not even reached his prime yet either! Also, what happened to this Lionel Morgan fella? Are we not keen on him anymore? As for the striker, I'm not sure there is a premiership player worthy enough to bring us out of the rut, so maybe we should shop abroad? There's talk of Zamora, but how can we be sure he can perform as well in the premiership?
Simon Humphrey: I'm not into suggesting players that are way out of our league (in money terms) - I went to see Watford V Coventry City - and out of all the team the man who impressed me most was 5ft 6inch midfielder Anthony McNamee. He's only 18, but he's got some class.
Dale Pottinger: I think that above all the club should do all they can to keep Rebrov. He is one of the best players in europe. One idea would be to get a fellow eastern european player to give Sergei some company. A player like Kaladze at Milan would be perfect as he would also be a top midfielder as well. Up front Teddy should move into coaching and leave the door open for Doherty & Iverson, cover could be provided by Zamora or Kaviedes. A good young
keeper should be brought in now to learn from Sullivan (maybe Hitoshi Sogahata from Japan). The defence is sound it just needs time to gel. In midfield Zeige & Davies should start every game while Anderton needs to be involved as much as possible. Sherwood could maybe link up with Teddy in the coaching dept to be replaced by Lampard, Almeyda or Nakata.
