We looked in the driving seat at 2-0 up against Middlesbrough on Saturday but Mark Viduka looped home a header for 2-1 and it needed a fantastic save from Paul Robinson to prevent Viduka levelling minutes later.

We then forged further ahead via Robbie Keane seven minutes from time only for Emanuel Pogatetz to head home from a corner for 3-2 in the last minute, making for a nervous four minutes of added time.

Thankfully we held on and we needed to – our rivals for the UEFA Cup positions Portsmouth and Reading both won while Bolton nicked a point at Chelsea.

“We’re exciting at the moment!” smiled Michael at Spurs Lodge. “We’re scoring goals, conceding goals and the players we’ve got keep pulling us out of trouble – fantastic goals from Keano and Berba again, Berba’s was amazing.

“Robbo produced a world-class save at 2-1 and at that point, after being so comfortable at 2-0, it would have been a tough 20 minutes to go. Robbo made sure that wasn’t the case.

“Of course it concerns me that we’re conceding these goals but I’m happy because we won the game. It’s not about me or any individual, it’s about winning games for the team and football club.

“You go over the game and it’s disappointing to concede goals, simple as that, but we scored more than Middlesbrough, won the game and we have to be positive

“It was an important win and keeps us right in the picture.”
