Winks: "I loved every minute"

It was 15 years in the making - and Harry Winks loved every second of his first start in a Spurs shirt.
The young midfielder, 21, impressed as he took a grip of the midfield battleground and drove us forward in our 5-0 win against Gillingham in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
Always in control, we knocked and knocked before Christian Eriksen broke the visitors’ resistance just after the half-hour. Christian added a second and further goals from Vincent Janssen, Josh Onomah and Erik Lamela set up a fourth round tie at Liverpool.
“I loved every minute of it, it’s something I’ve been waiting for since I was five,” said Harry.

“I played in Sunday league and I went to a soccer camp in the summer, got picked up to go to the Academy development centre, got into the Academy and I’ve been at the Club ever since. To go out there today was a dream come true, it really was.
“To start the game and win as well, that capped it off. I’m over the moon about it.”
Harry recently signed a new deal and this is his latest stepping stone. “I’d like to think so,” he said. “All I can do is continue to work hard in training, focus on my game and fingers crossed I’ll keep going forward.”
