Wimmer on Victor and Vincent

Kevin Wimmer has hailed new boys Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen as ‘two great players’.
The central defender, who yesterday signed a new contract with the Club, has seen both individuals in action at close quarters before and he believes they’ll prove to be valuable additions to our squad.
With the lads now heading to Australia for next week’s International Champions Cup matches against Juventus and Atletico Madrid, Kevin said: “They’ve settled in very well.
“Of course, I knew about them before. Victor has shown in the Premier League already that he’s a very good player, a very strong midfielder and Vincent also – we played against him with the Austrian national team in June (pictured, below) and in that game I saw him for the first time.
“He did very well then, he scored and I’m very happy that we have these two great players now. I think they will help us a lot.”
Centre-back Kevin, 23, recently reported back to Hotspur Way after a long summer in which he represented Austria at Euro 2016.
Offering an update on his own pre-season campaign so far, he confirmed: “I started a little bit later this season because of the Euros but the other guys told me that the first few weeks were very tough.
“It’s been a very tough week, we’ve trained a lot – your body, your muscles and everything hurts! Sometimes it’s not that much fun in pre-season but you know you have to train and work hard so you are very fit during the season.
“We all know that this season will be even harder with the Champions League, we want to do well in the Premier League again and that’s why we need a good pre-season. It has to be tough in this period but at the end I think it will help us.”
