William targets win

William Gallas is calling on the spirit showed in back-to-back wins against Blackburn and Bolton to see us home at Villa Park on Sunday.

The experienced French defender spoke about how tough it has been to take on teams at the wrong end of the table after Wednesday’s fine 4-1 win at the Reebok.

Sunday is another example with both ourselves and Villa all out for maximum points – us to try and finish in the top four, Villa to steer clear of the dreaded drop zone.

“It’s another difficult game,” said William, outstanding alongside Younes Kaboul up against the aerial threat of Kevin Davies and co at Bolton.

“The last games for us are tough because all the teams need to survive in the Premier League.

“Villa are strong, have good forwards and we need to show spirit again.

“We need to win as well if we want to make the Champions League, we need three points and we’ll go to win.

“We know we can beat anyone on our day. We have all the information and it’s important to be focused. We were all ready to win against Bolton and if we can do the same job against Villa it will be great.”
