Where there's a Will-em

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Willem Korsten is picking himself up again after the disappointment of losing his first team place.

The Dutchman played up front twice for the first team in the Worthington Cup loss against Birmingham City and Premiership derby at Chelsea.

Only the agility of Ed De Goey denied him goals at Stamford Bridge but Korsten lost his place in the team and on the bench when both Sergei Rebrov and Chris Armstrong returned from injury.

He will return to reserve team football against Ipswich Town at St Albans on Tuesday night no doubt hoping for a repeat of the four-goal form against Leicester City that elevated him to the first team in the first place.

Korsten said: “You always want to be involved but the gaffer decided it wasn’t my time. I just have to get on with it, train as hard as I can and prove I’m good enough for the first team.

“It is disappointing but that’s part of playing. We’ve got 23, 24 really good players and they all want to be playing so every time it is difficult to get into the team. As I said, all I can do is keep working hard and try my best.

“There are lots of reactions possible and I think the best on is to play as well as you can.

“It’s not only about scoring goals, it’s about being involved in a way that I should be involved. Playing well, working hard and if I make goals that’s an advantage but it’s not my main aim.”
